Makrostergios Family Shoot

I was honoured when I got back in touch with Joulie recently and she asked me about taking some family photos for her. I used to work for her at a previous job, and while our lives split different ways since that time it’s always nice to be able to get back in touch and get back on the same page from where we left off.

Her family is really wonderful – Kosta, her husband is a wonderful, kind, caring man and their daughter Joanna is full of energy, and a natural in front of the camera. I had no issues with her despite the cold weather, always wanting to try something new, and coming up with places and poses all on her own.

We met up around the Middlesex London Health Unit just behind the Old Courthouse and took the photos along the King St Bridge and in the playground in that area at Ivey Park.

Joulie is currently the owner of Jeppii.com which helps job seekers with finding employment.

London City Soccer vs Mississauga Eagles

London City was host to Mississauga Eagles last night in London at Cove Rd field (German-Canadian Club). This was a match rescheduled from last Friday due to heavy rain and flooding on the field preventing last Friday’s match from happening. The match was predominantly controlled by London City, with a lot of chances in front of the goal that unfortunately just weren’t making it to the back of the net. Mississauga opened the scoring and held that 1-0 lead into half time.

London’s Boban Stojanovic tied up the match shortly into the second half, but not without Mississauga scoring only five minutes after to once again take the lead at 2-1. This was no match to give up on, and it showed with the determination of London landing them a tying goal from Zvonko Bakula with only minutes remaining in the match to even the score at 2-2 where it stayed until completion.

This tie still keeps London in contention for the playoffs with only one point separating them from Mississauga for the final spot, and currently tied with three other teams in their current position. Their next and final match of regular season is in Kingston at Invista Centre on October 6th against Kingston FC which currently only holds three wins this season and is sitting third from last in the league. A lot depends on the other matches happening with the teams in the same spot with London as well, so they are not out of the water just yet.

Habitat for Humanity – Windows of Opportunity Event

The event for the Habitat for Humanity Windows of Opportunity in London, Ontario was a success! There were many, many usable items and art pieces donated for auction to raise money for the organization. Andrew Cole was present to perform with a choir, and on his own – what an amazing talent to have, and an all around humorous and easy going person to be around.

My piece ended up fetching $270 for Habitat for Humanity, which I’m overjoyed with! It is such a great feeling to help out such an organization as best I can with my time, talent, and resources.

Here are some photos I took at the event, hosted at the Delta London Armouries in downtown London.
